The Yandex team today showed an electric bicycle of its own design at the YaC 2023 conference. It is intended for couriers and is designed to make the delivery process more comfortable, faster and safer.
As the press service notes, the model was created taking into account the wishes of Yandex Food and Delivery couriers: all-season, with a capacious battery and a trunk for a bag.
Reliable and safe: Yandex introduced an electric bicycle for couriers
The bicycle frame is made of aluminum. The seat is designed so that the rider gets less tired even during long trips. The bike has a rack for a courier bag with a frame that holds it securely, and a USB port for charging a smartphone. The wheels are covered with wide fenders – they protect clothes and bags from splashes. The bicycle itself monitors the speed and will not allow you to exceed the limit established on the site.
As Yandex promises, an electric bicycle can be used at any time of the year. The electronics and brakes are completely sealed. The battery is heated and can be easily replaced.
The first hundred production bicycles will appear on the streets of Moscow this winter – they will be available for rent by couriers collaborating with Yandex services. By next fall, Yandex plans to increase the number of bicycles to several thousand.
