At the same time, the Core i7-7700K costs three times as much

AMD just introduced the core processors of the Ryzen 3000, Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X series, and now the first test of the younger model has appeared on the Web, allowing you to visualize its performance. For comparison, the once very popular top-end Intel CPU was chosen – Core i7-7700K.

By the number of cores and multithreading, these models are the same: each has four physical cores and allows eight threads to be executed. But the frequencies vary 3.6-3.9 GHz for the AMD model and 4.2-4.5 GHz for the Intel representative. Of course, the TDP values also vary 65 watts verses 91 watts. It would seem that with these parameters, the Core i7-7700K should be noticeably faster, but no: the Geekbench test showed that the Ryzen 3 3100, although lagging, is not critical.

If the Core i7-7700K scores 1235 points in a single-threaded test, and 4733 points in a multi-threaded test, then Ryzen 3 3100 leaves these tests with 1095 and 4507 points, respectively. It should be remembered that the AMD CPU has a much lower TDP value, and the price is even three times lower: $ 100 versus $ 340, which is requested for the Core i7-7700K following the official price list.
