Xiaomi increased the share to 10%

Despite the fact that many countries have entered total quarantine far from the beginning of the year, already by the end of the first quarter it is clearly visible how the smartphone market sagged catastrophically.

Sales of expensive iPhones suffered less from coronavirus than sales of Samsung devices. But Xiaomi feels the best

Strategy Analytics analysts say a 17 percent decline in sales, from 330.4 to 274.8 million devices. And this is the average value, while for some manufacturers sales fell even more.

In particular, Samsung sales fell 19%, from 71.8 to 58.3 million devices. For comparison, this is slightly less than what Huawei had in the first quarter of last year. Huawei itself retained second place, but its sales fell by 18%, to 48.5 million smartphones. Against this background, the results of Apple, whose sales dipped by only 9%, to 39.2 million devices, look very curious.

Xiaomi was the best in the top five, which managed to keep sales unchanged at 27.5 million, so its share increased from 8.3% to 10%. Closes the top five company Oppo, which sold 22.6 million devices, which is 11% less than a year earlier.
