Saransk TV Plant will release servers based on Huawei HiSilicon ARM processors
Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei and RTI have announced a strategic cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Xiao Haijun, CEO of Huawei Enterprise in Eurasia, and Pavel Laptev, Director of RTI JSC, during the Huawei Digital Community Conference 2020 (Huawei Digital Community Conference, HDCC 2020).
The main goal of the agreement is to form the production of specialized server industrial equipment on the territory of the Russian Federation. These systems will be based on Huawei Kunpeng processors.
The agreement provides for the creation of an ecosystem of software for ARM-based processors that will meet security requirements for government products. The development of the corresponding software will be undertaken by RTI.
The actual production of servers is planned to be deployed on the basis of the Saransk television plant, which is part of the RTI group. It is expected that the first batch of servers will be assembled here at the end of this year – early next year.
“ Huawei chose RTI as a technology partner based on a number of factors. Among them are the availability of modern production facilities, on the basis of which the production of high-tech products is possible, as well as many years of experience in the development of automated control systems solutions for state executive authorities of all levels, which has been successfully confirmed in practice. We are confident in the success of our cooperation and in the creation of an effective joint software and hardware solution of Russian production , ”notes Huawei.
We add that Huawei is actively developing business in Russia together with local partners . So, earlier the Chinese giant signed an agreement on the release of servers with the Russian company Norse-Trans and began cooperation with Russian developers of software platforms Alt Linux, Astra Linux, and RED OS.
