Sega reveals the future of Yakuza in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the series

Japanese publishing house Sega and studio Ryu Ga Gotoku in the official microblogging of the latter announced a live broadcast timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Yakuza crime-fighter series.

The stream will take place on December 8 – it was on this day in 2005 that boxes with the first part of the franchise appeared on the shelves of Japanese stores (the European release followed only nine months later).

The upcoming broadcast is calculated for two hours – from 14:00 to 16:00 Moscow time. It will be possible to follow the development of events (the player is attached below) through the official Japanese YouTube channel of the series.

The show promises to look back on the 15-year history of Yakuza and “make announcements about future developments”: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will probably confirm that it has taken on the next game.

Recall that the initial announcement of the new Yakuza was expected on the days of the Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online, but the presentation did not take place – as it turned out, the host Ayana Tsubaki excited the fans by mistake.

In mid-September, fans of the series also noticed the mention of Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the official Japanese website of the franchise (a potential remake of the third part – approx.), But then it was a common typo.

As a reminder, this year the Yakuza series has been expanded with one more game – Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The project was released in Japan in January and reached Europe and the United States on November 10.
