Siemens IOT2050 Gateway Designed for the Internet of Things

The IOT2050 Gateway is an open platform designed to collect, transmit, and process machine data, as well as to connect production processes to the cloud. Besides, with its help, you can organize remote access. The gateway can be integrated into the Siemens Industrial Edge system.

The versatility provided by the lack of binding to a specific programming language and the support of many publicly available software packages is related to the advantages of the gateway.

The gateway is based on SoC with processors based on the Arm architecture. The portal has passive cooling and is available in standard and advanced configurations. The standard configuration includes the SoC Texas Instruments Sitara AM6528 with a dual-core CPU, 1 GB of DDR4 RAM, as well as an SD card slot for an operating system card. The advanced configuration is built on the Sitara AM6548 SoC with a quad-core CPU, has 2 GB of RAM and eMMC storage. The standard version is compatible with the Debian OS and allows you to use any software from the Raspberry Pi 3 platform repository. The gateway includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports with Profinet support, two USB 2.0 ports, and one RS-232/485/422 port. Both configurations are compatible with Simatic Industrial OS.

Deliveries of a standard configuration should begin this month, expanded – in May.
