Signs of console hunger: Amazon warns customers that Xbox Series X pre-orders may be late

Last week, Amazon informed customers who pre-ordered PS5 consoles that they may not receive their consoles on launch day. The company has now started informing people who pre-ordered Xbox Series X that they too may not receive their copy on launch day.

To inform customers, the company sent out emails, the content of which is published by many Twitter users. “We are contacting your Xbox Series order in advance that you may not receive this product on release day due to high demand,” Amazon said in the notice.

Amazon notifications like this are yet another annoying factor that reflects Sony and Microsoft’s supply problems this season. In general, this is not surprising: the production volumes of next-generation consoles (as well as flagship graphics cards like NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080) could be affected by supply chain disruptions caused by quarantine measures against COVID-19. At least, it definitely made things worse.

In case anyone missed the news, we’d like to remind you that pre-order Xbox Series X or Seris S seems to be sold out almost everywhere, although the Xbox Twitter account says that more gaming systems can be expected to hit the market by November 10 … This year’s winter will be clearly hot for those looking to get their hands on the latest consoles.
