ŠKODA unveils ENYAQ iV electric crossover on MEB platform

The Czech brand ŠKODA has unveiled the ENYAQ iV electric crossover, based on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive platform (MEB) for mass production of electric vehicles. The platform supports various vehicle models and ŠKODA was one of the first Volkswagen brands to use it for their new crossover.

“ The launch of ENYAQ iV heralds a new era for ŠKODA. This is our first all-electric vehicle on the MEB platform. With this model, we are realizing the principles of E-Mobility Simply Clever, with a long-range, fast charging, ease of use, and affordable prices, ”said ŠKODA CEO Thomas Schäfer. He also announced that ENYAQ iV will be produced at the company’s plant in Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic), making it the only MEB-based vehicle manufacturing facility in Europe outside Germany.

The ŠKODA ENYAQ iV will be available in five variants (ENYAQ 50 iV, ENYAQ 60 iV, ENYAQ 80 iV, ENYAQ 80x iV, and ENYAQ RS iV) with three battery sizes providing a range of 340 to 510 km in accordance with the WLTP standard. The total power of the electric motors ranges from 109 to 225 kW.

The rear-wheel-drive ENYAQ 50 iV base model is equipped with a 109 kW engine and a 55 kWh battery providing a range of up to 340 km. The flagship model ENYAQ RS iV with all-wheel drive received two electric motors with a total power of 225 kW, develops a speed from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds, and a maximum speed of 180 km / h. The ENYAQ RS iV has a range of 460 km.

Note that the ENYAQ 80 iV with an 82 kWh battery and a 150 kW engine has the greatest range from a single battery charge (510 km).

The electric SUV features a modern interior with a large touchscreen display and digital instrument cluster.

ŠKODA will begin deliveries of the ENYAQ iV Founders Edition in spring 2021. The price of ENYAQ iV is expected to start at 35,000 euros.
