Smart strap Sony Wena 3 turns a regular watch into a smart watch with a heart rate sensor

A very curious novelty was announced by the sony corporation: a product called Wena 3 allows you to endow any existing watch with a set of “smart” functions – for example, a classic analog chronometer.

Wena 3 is a smart strap that replaces the traditional watch bracelet. The novelty contains a monochrome display, as well as a set of sensors to track physical activity and vital signs of the user’s body.

In particular, the gadget can count the heart rate (HR) and estimate the level of oxygen in the blood. In addition, stress levels, quality, and duration of sleep are analyzed. Of course, common metrics such as steps taken and distance traveled are recorded.

The strap is endowed with a microphone and speaker: users will be able to interact with the intelligent voice assistant Alexa. The accumulated data can be transferred to a mobile application on a smartphone, where it can be viewed in a convenient form along with visual graphs.

The novelty is protected from moisture (5ATM), and therefore can be used during water sports. The built-in NFC controller enables contactless payments.

Sony will offer the Wena 3 in a variety of designs such as leather and stainless steel. Sales begin on November 27; approximate price – from 215 euros.
