The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra is 8.1mm thick and weighs 188 grams. The ZTE Axon 30 Pro is 7.86 mm thick and weighs 186 grams. The Axon 30 Ultra features a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touchscreen sampling rate. The resolution is FHD +, there is support for HDR10 +, 10-bit color, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The Axon 30 Pro display is flat, with a sampling rate of 360 Hz, and the rest of the display is the same as the Ultra display. The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra and Axon 30 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash. A liquid cooling system is provided.

The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra received three 64-megapixel image sensors, including the main Sony IMX686, complemented by an F / 1.6 lens and optical image stabilization. In the presence of a wide-angle camera and another module with an aperture of F / 1.9. The fourth module with a periscope lens has a resolution of 8 megapixels and provides 5x optical zoom. Also promised 60x digital zoom, HDR10 recording, Super Moon Ultra night mode for shooting the stars and the moon. The front camera is embedded in the screen and has a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The ZTE Axon 30 Pro has image sensors with a resolution of 64 (Sony IMX682), 64, 5, and 2 megapixels. There is no periscope camera. Axon 30 Ultra received a 4600 mAh battery with support for 66-watt charging, dual-band GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E. Axon 30 Pro received a 4200 mAh battery and 55-watt charging.

Both devices run MyOS based on Android 11 OS.
