Sony Cancels All Unpaid PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Pre-Orders From Russian Store After Price Increase

The price of the PlayStation 5 in Russia has risen by 3 thousand rubles since April 1. This applies to both the edition with a disk drive and the version without an optical drive. However, the bad news for domestic users does not end there. Based on numerous tweets, Sony has canceled unpaid PlayStation 5 pre-orders without an optical drive from its store in Russia. The company did not provide any clear reasons for this decision.

A user under the pseudonym freeman_alexey published a letter that came to his account in the Sony Store Online. It says: “Due to the objective impossibility of fulfilling your application, we are forced to inform you about the cancellation of all preliminary applications for the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition model posted in our online store. All previously paid orders will be executed without changing the conditions

It is curious that many users made a pre-order in the fall of last year and patiently waited for its execution. Probably, the cancellation is due to the increase in prices for the PlayStation 5. Now in Russia, we will have to pay 536.36$ for the publication without a Blu-ray drive. (it was 37,990 rubles), and for the variant with a floppy drive – 536.36$. (was 46,990 rubles). Perhaps, in this way, Sony wants to force users to pre-order at a new cost.
