Sony digital cameras can now be used for video calls

Sony has released a desktop app called Imaging Edge Webcam that allows owners of Sony digital cameras to use them as webcams. Users will also be able to use their cameras for live streaming. All you need is a USB cable and software.

In an official statement released by Sony, it is said that “the Imaging Edge webcam enables users to perform live streaming and video conferencing and take full advantage of Sony’s advanced imaging technologies such as industry-leading autofocus, high-definition imaging and the unique features of each compatible camera “.

The software is currently compatible with 35 models, including Alpha 9 II, Alpha 9, Alpha 7R, Alpha 7R III, Alpha 7S II, Alpha 7S, Alpha 7 III, Alpha 6400, Alpha 6100, RX100 VII, RX100 VI, RX0 II, RX0, ZV-1, and Alpha 7S III. The software runs on computers running 64-bit Windows 10.

The software is 6.2 MB in size and is completely free to download.
