Sony fixes PS5 UI issue that caused gamers to mistakenly launch PS4 versions of games

Interaction with cross-gen games on the PlayStation 5 is not very convenient: until recently, the console immediately downloaded versions for PS4 and PS5, which is why gamers mistakenly launched the version for the previous generation. Fortunately, the system now warns which edition you are running on.

As a Twitter user under the alias Tidux noted, a function has appeared on the PlayStation 5 that notifies you of an attempt to launch a version for the PlayStation 4. A pop-up window suggests switching to the option for the next-generation console, if possible.

In addition, it is reported that users can now also choose which version of the game they want to download. Previously, PlayStation 5 downloaded the default versions for PS4 and PS5.
