Sony has fixed the problem with downloading PlayStation 5 games

We have previously reported that Sony has released a second system software update for the set-top box. However, the accompanying PS5 System Update 20.02-02.26-00 official description was very brief and only mentioned improved system performance.

Based on the net feedback, it becomes clear that the update finally fixes the problem with loading games. And this is good news.

This is one of the most famous and annoying problems of the new PS5. As numerous users complained, a message about being added to the download queue and a download error may appear when downloading games and applications. The subsequent check of the downloads section does not produce anything.

Initially, this problem could not be resolved without resetting to factory settings, resulting in the loss of all data. Then Sony found a workaround that did not require a factory reset, consisting of several steps, including installing the first update for the set-top box, rebooting in safe mode, and manually starting a database restore in the console’s memory.

Judging by the reviews, after installing PS5 Firmware Update 20.02-2.26.00, the problem with downloading games ceases to bother users, and no “dancing with a tambourine” is required for this anymore.
