By the day of the start of sales of the new PlayStation 5 in Russia , Yandex.Market service experts studied the demand for consoles and games and told what and what Russians are playing.
Sony PlayStation 4 Pro Leads, Nintendo Switch Leads Xbox One X
In general, the demand for game consoles is traditionally growing on the eve of Black Friday and in the New Year’s Eve season. This year, a lot of interest in the category fell on the self-isolation regime.
This year the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro became the absolute leader among consoles. In second place in the ranking is the Sony PlayStation 4 Slim, and in third place is the Nintendo Switch hybrid console.
The most popular console from Microsoft was the Xbox One X, which took the fifth place in the ranking of popular game consoles. When choosing a set-top box, Russians most often give preference to Sony – 63% of user transitions fell on the offers of this manufacturer. Microsoft’s Xbox and Nintendo models received 21% and 16%, respectively.
The most popular game this year was Red Dead Redemption 2. Grand Theft Auto V is in second place, and FIFA 20 is in third.
The study used data from the service on user transitions to online stores from January 1 to November 11, 2020.
