Sony scared fans of the PlayStation 5. Mention of 2020 disappeared from the site

The fact is that since the launch of the PlayStation 5 page, it mentioned the release date – Launches holiday 2020 or “Will arrive on holidays in 2020.” A similar banner was observed on all regional versions of the page, including the Russian one. Now, all references to 2020 have disappeared from the site.

PS5Countdown, a fan account on the social network Twitter, initially drew attention to the phenomenon. Then the topic began to be discussed in the social news resource Reddit, but subsequently, the original message was deleted by Reddit moderators for unknown reasons. The user who wrote the given message wondered if the changes on the site meant the canceled launch in 2020.

Sony itself has repeatedly denied rumors about a possible transfer of the PlayStation 5 to 2021 and insisted that it would be in time by the originally announced deadline – the Christmas sales season of 2020. The last such confirmation was made a few days ago by the executive director of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan (Jim Ryan). The company has not yet commented on a new round of rumors generated by the changes on the site.

Sony recently canceled a PlayStation 5 gaming event scheduled for June 4th. This was due to massive protests and riots in the United States.
