Rocket and Space Center (RKC) “Progress” revealed the timing of the first launch of a new domestic carrier rocket “Soyuz-5”. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was informed that Soyuz-5 will be launched for the first time on December 24, 2025. According to the materials presented to the head of government, the creation of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle should be completed on November 25, 2025, and the launch is scheduled for December 24 of the same year. In addition, it is planned to complete the installation of equipment at the Baikonur Cosmodrome by August.

Recall that Soyuz-5 is a promising Russian medium-class launch vehicle that will be used to launch automatic spacecraft into near-Earth orbits. It is also known that the rocket will receive the most powerful rocket engine – RD-171, it is called the “king engine”, it has already been tested. Earlier, Daniil Subbotin, Deputy General Director of the RCC Progress, mentioned that Soyuz-5 would be ready for launch towards the end of 2025.
