The head of Twitter put up his first tweet for auction – the bid has already grown to $ 2 million

Twitter co-founder and CEO billionaire Jack Dorsey have auctioned his very first tweet in an attempt to sell it as a non-fungible token (NFT) – a unique asset stored on the Ethereum blockchain.

Dorsey posted his famous first tweet, “just setting up my Twitter,” on the microblogging service on March 21, 2006.

Although this tweet has been publicly available for nearly 15 years, Dorsey is now trying to sell it as an NFT through the Valuables platform. The auction has only begun to be reported now, after Dorsey tweeted it, although the tweet was put up for sale last December.

Note that the auction has generated a lot of interest, rates continue to rise, and there is already someone willing to pay $ 2 million for a tweet. This offer came from technology entrepreneur Justin Sun.

As stated in the Valuables FAQ, “you buy a digital certificate for a tweet that is unique because it has been signed and verified by the author.” In other words, you are buying an autograph. However, Dorsey and Twitter retain the right to delete the tweet.
