The hype around the iPhone 12 is only growing. Assemblers hire new workers and add more overtime shifts

IPhone 12 pre-order delivery times in some countries and regions are still 2-3 weeks or even 4 weeks due to the high volume of orders.

Sources note that iPhone assemblers Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron, as well as camera module supplier Genius Electronic Optical (GEO), are adding more overtime shifts and hiring more workers to increase production, as well as requiring appropriate component suppliers to expedite their shipments.

Camera module maker Genius Electronic Optical is reportedly ready to add overtime shifts between November and December, the sources added.

As noted by DigiTimes, Apple, Samsung Electronics and Chinese brands are simultaneously stepping up efforts to grab a large share of the smartphone market in China, where Huawei is losing ground.
