New product is one third faster than its predecessor

The start of sales of the Radeon RX 6700 XT will take place in a week, although there will be very few cards . We got acquainted with the capabilities of the adapter yesterday thanks to tests in a number of games , and now the result of a novelty has appeared in the Ashes of the Singularity benchmark.

The new tests of the Radeon RX 6700 XT look interesting, but the cards will still practically not be on sale

Since this benchmark is rather peculiar, it is most reasonable to compare the new product with its predecessor. As a result, the RX 6700 XT outperforms the RX 5700 XT by 26-33%, depending on the mode.

If we compare this with yesterday’s results in games, then the results are about the same. That is, the RX 6700 XT can really expect performance at the level of the RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 3070 depending on the game, but not when ray tracing is enabled.

Recall that the RX 6700 XT has exactly the same 2560 stream processors as the RX 5700 XT, and their comparison could be called an excellent comparison of the RDNA and RDNA2 architectures, but the GPU frequencies of the new product are much higher, which makes such a comparison somewhat incorrect.
