The New York Times has been stripped of its Twitter tick.

According to Twitter’s new policy, these checkmarks are now only offered with paid subscriptions. Organizations must shell out $1,000 per month to earn gold ticks, while individuals can earn blue ticks for a starting price of $7 in the United States.

“We also will not refund reporters for Twitter Blue for personal accounts, except in the rare event that this status is necessary for reporting purposes,” a spokesman for The New York Times added.

According to a memo sent to employees seen by Reuters, Politico will also not offer to compensate employees for their Twitter following.
