Half of Series S buyers haven’t owned an Xbox before
Microsoft at the BIG Festival event in Brazil revealed sales figures for Xbox Series consoles.
At the moment, consoles of this generation have been sold 21 million units. For comparison: the PlayStation 5 has already sold almost 40 million units, that is, Sony is about twice ahead of the competitor.
The Xbox Series is about half behind the PlayStation 5 in terms of sales.
The Xbox One consoles have sold over 58 million units over the years. It can also be noted that the Xbox Series is still losing even to the first generation of Xbox, whose sales amounted to about 24 million consoles, but still the Xbox Series will be relevant for many more years.
Microsoft also said that almost half of Xbox Series S buyers (48%) did not have any Microsoft consoles before, that is, apparently, the bet on the low price justifies itself.
