Thin PlayStation 5 with removable optical drive will be released in September

By the end of the year, Sony will completely replace the current model

Gaming insider Tom Henderson confirms that the thin version of the PlayStation 5 will hit stores as early as September this year.

In addition, he added that Sony plans to completely replace the current model by the end of 2023. This will be achieved by producing less than one million original PlayStation 5s and many more thin models.

This is consistent with the information published last year that the new PlayStation 5 game console with a removable optical drive will go into production in April 2023 and go on sale in September 2023.
