The Star Wars: Journey to Batuu expansion for The Sims 4, announced at the Gamescom 2020 opening ceremony, did not find the proper response from the fan community.

Recall that Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will add to The Sims 4 “objects, sounds and smells” from the universe of “Star Wars”: Sims can create their own lightsaber, start a droid and so on.

Not all fans were delighted with the imminent opportunity to go to the border of the Outer Rim: the announcement trailer for Star Wars: Journey to Batuu has collected over 87 thousand negative reviews against only 37 thousand positive ones.

In the comments below the video, users accused The Sims 4 developers of ignoring the wishes of the community: a January poll by Digital Spy showed minimal player interest in potential Star Wars content.

“DO NOT BUY this kit! We need to show EA that we are not going to give her money if she completely ignores us and overshadows such important things as racial equality, good gameplay, REAL babies, etc. ” – reads one of the most popular comments under the trailer.

Previously, The Sims 4 fans demanded (even organized a petition on Change.org ) from the developers to add additional skin color settings. The expansion of options was promised next fall.

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will go on sale on September 8 this year for PC (Steam, Origin), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You will need the base game to access the settings.
