THQ Nordic sets up studio to work on remake of Gothic and promises soon news
In February last year, THQ Nordic announced that it had decided to release a Gothic remake due to players’ interest in a demo called Gothic Playable Teaser. The company’s Spanish division is handling the project, and now it has a name – Alkimia Interactive.
THQ Nordic said on Twitter: “We are delighted to present our new studio Alkimia Interactive in Barcelona, Spain. The team will focus on high-quality RPGs with a Gothic remake as their first project. Development is already in full swing, and the first results will be shown in the next few months. “
THQ Nordic also posted a list of vacancies at Alkimia Interactive and invited them to join its “guild.” At the moment, the team needs specialists of different profiles – from 3D artists to level designers.
So far, little is known about the Gothic remake. The game will be marked with an updated visual component and improved gameplay mechanics, but at the same time, it will remain ” as faithful to the original as possible .” The redesigned Gothic will be released on PC and current generation consoles (specific platforms have not yet been specified), and the release date remains unknown.
