“Threat to Sovereignty”: India Banned 118 More Apps From Chinese Companies, Including PUBG Mobile

India has taken drastic measures against Chinese digital products. The government of the country has banned 118 mobile applications from companies from the Middle Kingdom, including games. The list includes PUBG Mobile, which had previously been blocked in certain regions of the country, Arena of Valor, Knives Out, and others.

As the portal Game Pressure reports with reference to the official press release, the reason for the ban was the unauthorized collection of personal data of users and their sending to servers outside India. The authorities of the country said: “On the basis of this [information] and after receiving reliable information that these applications pose a threat to the sovereignty and integrity of the state, the government of the state decided to prohibit the use of certain games and services on mobile and non-mobile devices with Internet access

Recall that this is not the first wave of blocking applications from Chinese companies: in June, India banned 59 digital products from the Middle Kingdom, and in July added 47 more titles to this list, including TikTok and the popular game Clash of Kings. Currently, more than 220 applications have been blocked in the country.
