A large hatchback will also appear in the Crown lineup.
Once the whole world knew Toyota Crown as a luxury business sedan, now Crown is a separate brand. So far, it is represented by a cross-sedan (which is already sold in Russia), but soon the line will be replenished with three models – a hatchback, a sedan and a station wagon. And all models will be large.
For example, the length of the hatchback will be 4710 mm. For comparison: the length of the latest generation Corolla hatchback (also known as Auris) is 4370 m. Moreover, the Crown hatchback (the creators call it the Sport Type) will be even larger than the Corolla station wagon, whose length is 4650 mm. The regular hybrid version of the Crown Sport Type will debut this fall, followed by a plug-in hybrid in the winter.
Toyota Announces Crown 5m Sedan and Crown Estate Type Cross Wagon
The Crown Sedan Type sedan will also be released this fall, its length will be an impressive 5030 mm. Here, in addition to the standard hybrid power plant, hydrogen is also planned.
The elevated station wagon (or crossover?) called the Crown Estate Type will be slightly smaller – the length will be 4930 mm. It will be released next year and will probably be unified with the sedan in terms of power plants.
