Nvidia seems to have decided to distribute next-generation GPU orders between TSMC and Samsung

According to the DigiTimes website, TSMC has received Nvidia’s orders for 7nm and 5nm products. Given earlier information that Nvidia will order the release of 5-nanometer products from Samsung, the source suggests that Nvidia decided to distribute orders for the release of the next generation GPU between TSMC and Samsung.

Recall, the South Korean semiconductor giant begins mass production of 5-nanometer products using EUV in the current quarter.

It is assumed that the distribution of orders between the two production partners will allow Nvidia to more fully satisfy the demand for its products and compensate for possible problems with the low yield of one of the manufacturers at the initial stage of development of mass production. In addition, this will make it possible to agree on more attractive conditions for contract manufacturing.

As for Nvidia GPUs designed to deliver cutting-edge technology, Nvidia is expected to talk about them at the GTC 2020 online event later this month. First of all, information on the next-generation graphic architecture is of interest.
