Unannounced Switch-Version Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut Gets Age Rating, But Only By Mistake

A user of the ResetEra forum under the pseudonym Raigor drew attention to the assignment by the European rating organization PEGI of the age classification of the unannounced Switch-version of Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut.

As a reminder, Director’s Cut is the latest addition from the second Season Pass for Borderlands 3. The add-on includes a new raid boss, a chain of side quests, and special detective mechanics.

The expansion is officially announced only for PCs with two generations of Sony and Microsoft consoles. However, PEGI decided to assign an age rating and edition for the Nintendo Switch for some reason.

Shortly after the discovery, the Nintendo hybrid console’s mention from the Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut page on the PEGI website disappeared. A similar situation happened at the beginning of the month with Life is Strange: True Colors.

However, the situation with Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut turned out to be much more transparent: GameSpot editor Gabe Gurwin, citing a 2K publisher, said that there was an error and Borderlands 3 will not be released on Nintendo Switch.

Doubts about the possibility of Borderlands 3 on a hybrid console Nintendo in January 2017 expressed the co-founder of Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford (Randy Pitchford).

Borderlands 3 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. Owners of the game on consoles of the previous generation are entitled to a free upgrade to versions for new consoles.
