Video: Lightning Fast Downloads in Resident Evil 2 and DMC 5: Special Edition on Xbox Series X
Next-generation consoles are on the way, and more and more examples on the web show how quickly games load on them. The latest videos showcase a remake of Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, which has impressive load times on Xbox Series X.
As you can see in a Twitter post below, Resident Evil 2’s cold start on Xbox Series X (from the console’s main menu to the gameplay itself) is 20 seconds. This time includes several cutscenes and a selection of items to continue the campaign. The wait required to switch from the main menu of the game to the gameplay is literally a couple of seconds.
In Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, the picture is similar: from launch to gameplay in just 38 seconds. It should be borne in mind that in the project, the user encounters many menus before the actual gameplay begins. If you pay attention only to downloads, they take about 5 seconds.
Previously, the download speed on Xbox Series X Gears 5 and DOOM Eternal became known – 8 and 5 seconds, respectively, and fast travel in The Witcher: Wild Hunt finally lived up to its name: it did even without a loading screen.
Recall that the Xbox Series X and S have an SSD with 2.4GB / s read speed (or 4.8GB / s uncompressed), which is about 40 times faster than the Xbox One. The consoles will go on sale in less than a week, November 10.
