Vivo introduced a series of smartphones X50 in Russia: prices from 41 thousand rubles

At the very beginning of June, Vivo introduced the X50 series of smartphones, and now these devices have been announced for Russia (the first European market to which a Chinese company enters). In total, the series includes models Vivo X50, Vivo X50 Pro, and Vivo X50 Pro +, but in our area, only X50 and X50 Pro devices will officially appear.

The most advanced solution in the new series on the Russian market will be the Vivo X50 Pro smartphone, equipped with a 6.56-inch curved OLED display with FHD + resolution, 1300 nits brightness, and support for a 90 Hz refresh rate (180 Hz response). In the upper left corner of the screen, in a small circular cutout, there will be a 32-megapixel camera for shooting self-portraits.

In turn, the main camera includes 48-megapixel wide-angle module with a Sony IMX598 sensor and f / 1.6 aperture; portrait 13-megapixel module (50mm lens in 35mm equivalent); 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module (viewing angle 120 ° and the possibility of macro photography from 2.5 cm); 8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom.

It is the 48-megapixel module that has a unique stabilization system using a special articulated suspension (the company puts a special emphasis on it). According to Vivo, the stabilization angle is ± 3 ° versus ± 0.7 ° in conventional optical stabilization systems for smartphones – you must agree that the difference is quite significant.

Among the modes announced are portrait, night, sports, and even astrophotography for shooting the night sky. There is also Intelligent Tracking AF, which remembers subjects and continues to keep them in focus, even when they disappear from the frame for a while. The 3D SoundTracking function allows using three microphones to intelligently amplify a person’s speech, dampening background noises. Also, when shooting a video, an intelligent zoom is provided, which automatically applies zoom, tracking the subject in the frame. There is also the possibility of shooting video with an AI-based bokeh effect.

The Vivo X50 Pro’s specs include a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC and a 4315mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Responsible for energy efficiency is the intelligent VEG mode, which increases battery life. There is an NFC module for payment or, for example, replenishing a Troika card in Moscow. There is also a dedicated Hi-Fi audio module with Hi-Res audio support.

The device is available in three colors: steel gray, sky blue, and black mirror. Dimensions are 158.46 × 72.8 × 8.04 mm, weight – 181.5 grams. The cost of Vivo X50 Pro with 8 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 128 GB in Russia will be 64,990 rubles. Sales will begin on July 31st.

A more affordable model of the series is Vivo X50. According to the manufacturer, this device is the thinnest smartphone with 5G support – its thickness is 7.49 mm, despite the battery with a charging capacity of 4200 mAh (support for high-speed charging 33 W).

The smartphone received a display with the same diagonal as the older brother, but with a flat panel. The front camera resolution is 32 megapixels. Like the Vivo X50 Pro, the smartphone has a quadruple-camera (48 + 8 + 8 + 13 megapixels), which supports an improved optical image stabilization system (OIS), albeit simpler than the Pro model. The stabilization angle here is ± 1.3 ° versus ± 0.7 ° in conventional optical systems for smartphones.

The functions of the device are almost the same as those of the Pro model, but, unlike it, the Vivo X50 is built on a simpler 8-nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chip. Dimensions are 159.54 × 75.39 × 7.55 mm, weight – 174, 5 grams, the same three colors are provided. The official cost of Vivo X50 with 8 RAM and 128 GB storage in Russia is 44,990 rubles, but at the start of sales the company offers to save: the device in sky blue and black mirror colors “can be bought at a price of 40,990 rubles, taking into account the discount on the promotional code X50START. This offer is valid until August 24, 2020.

Along the way, Vivo TWS Neo wireless headphones with aptX Adaptive technology and low latencies (88 ms) were presented, which are able to provide good sound due to large diameter drivers – 14.2 mm, and also have a decent battery life – 22.5 hours. They will go on sale on July 24 at a price of 9,990 rubles. That said, anyone who pre-orders the X50 or X50 Pro officially will receive these headphones for free as a bonus.
