The well-known insider Sudhanshu has published a detailed list of components used to create the new Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones.

What are image sensors used in the latest Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones? The older model received only one Sony sensor.

So, the Galaxy S21 and S21 +, which have identical cameras and more, received the following components: 

  • Main cameraSony IM555 
  • Ultra-Wide CameraSony IMX563 
  • TV camera – Samsung S5KGW2 
  • Front cameraSony IMX374 
  • RAM – LPDDR5 Samsung 
  • Flash memory – UFS 3.1 Samsung 
  • Charge Controller – NXP PCA9468 
  • Fingerprint scanner – Qualcomm QBT2608 

For Galaxy S21 Ultra, the list is as follows: 

  • Main camera – Samsung S5KHM3 
  • Ultra-Wide CameraSony IMX563 
  • TV camera – Samsung S5K3J1 
  • TV camera (periscope) – Samsung S5K3J1 
  • Front camera – Samsung S5KGH1 
  • RAM – LPDDR5 Samsung 
  • Flash memory – UFS 3.1 Samsung 
  • Charge Controller – NXP PCA9468 
  • Fingerprint scanner – Qualcomm QBT2608 
  • Wi-Fi Adapter – Broadcom BCM4389 

As you can see, Samsung uses many of its own components, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra has only one image sensor out of five supplied by Sony.
