Google spared no glue on this model
Just a few hours ago, Google introduced the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, and a video disassembling the younger model has already appeared on the Internet.
Disassembling the Pixel 8 should start with the screen, which also serves as a heat dissipator. Inside, everything is pretty standard: to get to the motherboard, you need to unscrew 14 screws. Google has provided tabs for quickly removing the battery, but they are not that much use: the battery is glued very well. The same can be said about the lid, which is almost tightly glued to the side frame. To replace the glass that protects the main camera lenses, you will have to disassemble the entire smartphone.

Overall conclusion: Pixel 8 is easy to disassemble, but you must tinker with the glue. And not all components (the cover and the glass that protects the lenses) can be easily replaced. Therefore, only 7 out of 10 points for maintainability.
