Two-year flagships based on Snapdragon 845 will be left without a new OS

Xiaomi has recently started testing the Android 11 operating system on its smartphones. At the same time, the stable version of the MIUI 12 proprietary shell is currently based on Android 10. It is now known when the stable version of MIUI 12 is planned to be released on Android 11.

When and which smartphones Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco, and Black Shark will receive stable Android 11

For the first smartphones, the Chinese company will release MIUI 12 on Android 11 in September. Also, a Xiaomi representative confirmed that, unfortunately, the era of flagships based on Snapdragon 845 is coming to an end and models like Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2s will no longer receive Android 11. 

Android 11 is currently being tested for these smartphones:

  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Open Beta – MIUI 12 based on Android 11 Beta 2.
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Open Beta – MIUI 12 based on Android 11 Beta 2.
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition (Lite Zoom), closed testing
  • Redmi K30 Pro / Poco F2 Pro Open Beta – MIUI 12 based on Android 11 Beta 2.
  • Redmi K30 / Poco X2 – Confirmed By Poco India
  • Redmi K30 5G / Redmi K30 closed testing
  • Redmi K30i 5G closed testing
  • Xiaomi Mi CC 9 Pro / Mi Note 10 / Mi Note 10 Pro, closed testing
  • Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, closed testing
  • Redmi K20 / Mi 9T closed testing
