To begin with, we recall that the Ryzen 7 4700U is a pre-top energy-efficient hybrid processor with eight cores without STM support, the Vega 7 graphics core, and 15 watts TDP. What is he capable of? It is worth noting that from a technical point of view this processor has no direct competitors from the Intel camp, since almost all energy-efficient CPUs of the company have a maximum of four cores, and only the Core i7-10710U model has six with Hyper-Threading support. However, for ordinary buyers, this does not matter, since the price is much more important. And here Ryzen 7 4700U is clearly not a competitor for the top-end Core i7-1065G7 and Core i7-10710U. Although AMD does not indicate the cost of mobile processors, we know the prices of Intel models: 426 and 443 dollars, respectively. Recall, the entire Acer Swift 3 laptop with Ryzen 7 4700U costs $ 650. and it will obviously not be the most affordable model with this APU. However, the comparison is more interesting.
So, as you can see, Ryzen 7 4700U almost always wins in processor tests. Only in the V-Ray Core i7-10710U is it significantly faster. With graphics more difficult. In Vega 7 benchmarks, it is clearly faster than Intel G7, and in World of Tank everything depends on resolution: in HD it turns out to be much faster Core i7-1065G7, and in Full HD – Ryzen 7 4700U. But various tests before this showed that Vega 7 in games is still faster than Intel’s top-end integrated graphics core.
As for autonomy, here Acer Swift 3 showed a good result, having worked in the video playback mode for more than 8 hours, but this is far from a record. However, the autonomy of a laptop depends not only on the CPU, so here you still need to look at specific models. In particular, the diagram shows that the Acer Swift 3 with a 14-nanometer Core i5-8250U for some reason outperformed the same model with a 10-nanometer Core i5-1035G1.
Summing up, we can say that the Ryzen 7 4700U turned out to be a very successful processor. It is significantly cheaper than top-end energy-efficient Intel models, and often it is much faster.
