Microsoft is convinced that the new feature will be in demand by owners of computers with solid-state drives. The fact is that due to the limited resource of flash memory, which is caused by the gradual degradation of its semiconductor structure, any SSD sooner or later loses its ability to store information. This feature forces users to keep their nose to the wind and catch the slightest trends indicating premature disc wear.
