The novelty, we recall, is endowed with a 55-inch OLED screen (organic light-emitting diodes) with a thickness of 5.7 mm. When turned off, this display remains completely transparent. When turned on, a 4K image (3840 × 2160 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz is generated. Provides 98.5 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

The main secret of Mi TV Lux OLED Transparent Edition is a special matrix. Xiaomi has resorted to OLED technology also because organic LEDs emit light on their own, which means they do not need backlighting. At the same time, the matrix has a unique design: RGBW pixels are combined with transparent “dots” in a ratio of 50:50 – due to this, the transparency effect is achieved. Due to the small size of the elements, the working pixels remain invisible in the off state, and the transparent “dots” do not interfere with the perception of the picture.

To achieve the effect of transparency, I had to move to the base all the components usually located behind the screen. This required the development of a special cooling system, and the base body itself has perforations to improve the efficiency of heat dissipation.

Finally, attention has been paid to protecting the display. On top of it is thin glass, and a metal frame is fixed around the perimeter.

We add that while the Mi TV Lux OLED Transparent Edition panel is available only in China. Price – $ 7200.
