Zoom video calling tops the hit parade of the world’s most popular apps

The Zoom app has broken all previous records for downloads from Apple and Google mobile app stores, surpassing even TikTok. In the United States alone, the Zoom app was downloaded nearly 90 million times in the second quarter of this year, according to a recent report. With regard to the global number of downloads of the application, it exceeded 300 million.

In the second quarter, downloads of health management software, fitness apps, and educational software increased significantly, according to Sensor Tower, which conducted the study. With regard to software for travel, sports, and navigation, the number of installations has decreased markedly.

The total number of downloads of applications worldwide reached 37.8 billion, which is 31.7% more than in the same period last year. Downloads from the Apple App Store rose 22.6% to 9.1 billion. For Google Play, these numbers are 34.9% and 28.7 billion, respectively.
