A prototype of one of the AMD Big Navi family video cards flashed in the photo

AMD announced yesterday that the announcement of next-generation graphics solutions with the RDNA 2 architecture, which belongs to the Radeon RX 6000 series, is scheduled for October 28. At the same time, it was not specified in what time frame the corresponding video cards will enter the market, although this should happen before the end of the year. Chinese sources are already posting photographs of early Big Navi samples.

Video cards

In general, it was the absence of such leaks that was most embarrassing against the background of NVIDIA’s activity, which increased by the end of August. Now AMD has decided on the timing of the announcement of its new video cards, there is not much time left before it, and informational reasons should arise regularly. The first can be considered a not very clear photograph, which was published this week by a user of the Chinese resource Bilibili.

According to the author, it shows a sample of one of the Big Navi video cards. The scanty data on the labels of the engineering sample indicate that it belongs to revision A0, and the video card model falls into the category of senior (“XT”). The presence of Samsung GDDR6 memory chips is also mentioned, which in this case forms an estimated volume of no more than 16 GB according to the “3 + 3 + 2” scheme. This allows us to say that the video card has a 256-bit bus.

A cooler, more reminiscent of a processor, is quite typical for early engineering samples, as are the many diagnostic indicators and connectors on the printed circuit board itself. A sample video card must be connected to the power supply using two eight-pin connectors, at least. The existing photo does not allow us to judge more.
