AMD has already stopped production of reference Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards
Many end consumers saw new video cards from AMD and NVIDIA in this half of the year only in the price lists of online stores with inflated prices. Now sources familiar with AMD’s plans state that the production of reference versions of the Radeon RX 6900 XT, Radeon RX 6800 XT, and Radeon RX 6800 has already been discontinued.
Last month, our own sources, on condition of anonymity, said that AMD’s plan was to ship reference graphics cards within about two weeks after the start of sales of the corresponding models, then they were supposed to give way to products from partners of the company relying on their own graphics card design.
Resource Cowcotland reported that the production of the standard version Radeon RX 6900 XT, Radeon RX 6800 XT, and Radeon RX 6800 has stopped. Considering that it is difficult to buy video cards, they are unlikely to be present in the price lists of stores for a long time. Soon they should give way to video cards performed by AMD partners – such a cooperation scheme allows video card manufacturers to earn more on product sales, since they simply resell reference video cards, receiving them ready-made from AMD.
