Ryzen 5000 processors have been on the market for a while, but there are only four models. Of course, this is a temporary phenomenon, and today the details of two new CPUs have appeared on the Web.
AMD is preparing a 12-core monster with a TDP of only 65 watts. Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 on the way
We are talking about models Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800. The first will retain 12 cores, the second – eight. In this case, the models will operate at lower frequencies relative to the current versions, but they will be limited to a TDP of 65 W.
So, the Ryzen 9 5900 will be clocked at up to 4.7 GHz, the Ryzen 7 5800 up to 4.6 GHz. In both cases, this is only 100 MHz below the peak frequencies of the Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 7 5800X, respectively. How much the base will be reduced is still unknown. The processors will save the cache memory in full: 70 MB for the older model and 36 MB for the younger model.
There is an assumption that such CPUs will be aimed exclusively at PC manufacturers, but so far there is no confirmation of this.
