They occupy two-thirds of the market, Intel – a little less than a third
The effect of the release of Comet Lake processors, which Intel had hoped for (if not big, then at least some), went unnoticed for Japanese users who assemble PCs on their own – AMD Ryzen respected them. The share of “red” CPUs in this segment of the Japanese market is now almost at its peak – 67.4%. The share of Intel processors is 32.6%.
AMD Ryzen processors are very popular among Japanese users building their own PC
Although in 2017, the picture, as can be seen on the graph, was completely different: individuals preferred Intel processors (83.9%), and AMD CPUs were in demand only by 16.1% of buyers. Moreover, the statistics presented do not concern a particular store, but the entire market as a whole. It clearly reflects how Intel was able to lose everything in a few years, and so far it doesn’t work out well.
These statistics reflect the general trend of the love of Asian users for successful Ryzen processors. For example, in South Korea, AMD CPUs occupy 60% of the market, although Intel once ruled the ball there.
