AMD Unveils Ryzen Embedded V2000 Zen 2 Processors

AMD has announced a new product in its high-performance embedded processor family. We are talking about Ryzen Embedded V2000 chips based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture and high-performance AMD Radeon graphics, which are manufactured in accordance with the 7 nm process technology.

The V2000 series consists of four BGA processors, of which the V2748 and V2546 have a higher operating frequency and consume more power, while the V2718 and V2516 have a lower TDP and a lower clock speed.

Compared to the previous generation of chips, the V2000 series processors provide twice the multi-threaded performance per unit of power consumption. In single-threaded performance, the gain reaches 30%, and in graphics – 40%. All of these processors are capable of dual-channel DDR4-3200 ECC memory and support up to four 4K displays.

Ryzen Embedded V2000 processors are not only more powerful and more energy-efficient than their predecessors but also more secure. They provide advanced security features to help protect against unauthorized access to memory and critical software. The new processors support AMD Memory Guard, a suite of security features including Secure Boot and Memory Encryption to help prevent attackers from gaining access to data.

AMD guarantees ten years of availability for the V2000 series processors. The first solutions based on Ryzen Embedded V2000 processors will soon be presented by Advantech, ASRock, Sapphire, and iBase.
