This is a segment record.
Recently, AMD introduced the Instinct MI300 accelerators : a unique hybrid MI300A and a more traditional MI300X based only on the GPU. It turned out that the second consumes a monstrous 750 watts of power.
Initially, AMD did not address the issue of power consumption, but the information was found in the accompanying documents.
AMD’s new “video card” consumes 750 watts.
750 watts is a lot. For comparison: MI250X consumed 560 watts. However, the Nvidia H100 in the maximum configuration can consume up to 700 watts, which is comparable to the new AMD.
Unfortunately, AMD has not yet disclosed the configuration of the accelerator, as well as its performance, although third-party sources spoke of 19,546 stream processors.
