Emtek introduced the GeForce RTX 3090 with a “turbine”
South Korean manufacturer Emtek has unveiled the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 graphics accelerator, the main feature of which is a cooling system using a tangential fan. This is not the first flagship graphics card in this design. We have previously seen the ASUS Turbo, Gigabyte Turbo, MSI Aero, and Galax Classic models.
The graphics accelerator Emtek GeForce RTX, 3090 Blower Edition, is equipped with a dual-slot cooling system. The dimensions of the video card are 268.6 × 112 × 38.5 mm. The novelty’s appearance is complemented by a “cast” casing of the bronze-colored cooling system and a rear reinforcing plate of the same color, which performs the function of cooling the second stack of memory chips located on the rear side of the board. The CO cooling elements include a large aluminum radiator with a copper evaporation chamber and one small 72 mm centrifugal fan.
The Emtek GeForce RTX, 3090 Blower Edition, is based on an NVIDIA GA102 chip with 10,496 CUDA cores and 24 GB of GDDR6X video memory with an effective frequency of 19.5 GHz. The GPU and memory power subsystem consists of 18 phases. The specifications of the new items do not indicate the base frequency of the GPU. The manufacturer only reports the Boost frequency, which is 1695 MHz, equivalent to the Founders Edition video card.
At first glance, the GeForce RTX 3090 Blower Edition PCB has a reference design. However, its uniqueness gives out an additional “island,” to which two 8-pin connectors for additional power have moved. Recall that the graphics accelerator’s reference version uses one proprietary 12-pin connector located in the central upper part of the board. The manufacturer did not change the video card’s maximum power consumption, so it is rated at 350 watts. It is recommended to use a good power supply with 750 W or more for work.
The set of external video interfaces is non-standard – one HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort 1.4a. With this configuration, up to four 4K monitors or two 8K monitors can be connected to the graphics card.
On the local market, the Emtek GeForce RTX 3090 Blower Edition is valued at 2,797,000 KRW, which is approximately $ 2,500. The price is definitely overpriced, but these are the realities of the current market. Most of the non-reference versions of the GeForce RTX 3090 are offered for about that much.
