Facebook has started testing promotional stickers in Stories. She will share the proceeds from them with the authors of the content.

The “Stories” section has existed on Facebook and Instagram for quite a long time – almost 4 years. And now Facebook will allow users to make money on their short videos by placing ads in the form of stickers. So far, the function has been launched in test mode for a small number of users but plans to expand testers’ circle.

The essence of the innovation lies in the fact that when posting “Stories,” users can place on the publication a special sticker containing business advertisements that fit the context of the content. For example, if a user makes a post in Yosemite National Park, the sticker might advertise local business services.

So far, it is not a fact that this function will be implemented soon in the main application, but the company confirms the beginning of its testing, albeit at the concept stage. The conditions for obtaining monetization, its amount, and other details have not yet been announced.

Previously, Facebook made it possible to integrate ads into videos with a length of 1 minute or more. To do this, users need to have 60 thousand minutes of viewing time in the last 60 days. Adding ads to short stories in Stories can enable a company to improve ad performance and create a new format for business customers. The feature may likely migrate to Instagram.
