According to the developer, their ventilator is easy to use, has a clear interface and does not require the participation of specially trained personnel. The company does not name the price of Flow but says that it is quite low.

According to Western sources, the device has received permission from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in medical institutions. Fitbit Flow can be used when standard ventilators for the maintenance of patients with COVID-19 are unavailable. Fitbit is currently negotiating the supply of Flow with US government agencies.

The idea to create their own ventilator came to the company after the news about the lack of such devices around the world.

“We have already heard that many doctors face a difficult ethical choice – who should be the first of the coronavirus patients to connect to an accessible ventilator. These devices are in severe shortage. The challenge is to avoid this situation , ”commented Tony Faranesh, one of the Fitbit developers who took part in the creation of the Ventilator Flow.

The device is equipped with various modern sensors and sensors for monitoring the condition of patients, as well as a digital display, which also displays information about the current settings of the pressure level and oxygen supply volume.
