GameStop Network Starts Warnings To Buyers Of DOOM Eternal Switch Version Cancellation

Twitter users, including blogger Spawn Wave, claim that American retail chain GameStop has begun warning shoppers about the cancellation of the Switch version of DOOM Eternal.

Let us remind you that the edition of id Software’s shooter for the Nintendo hybrid console is created by the efforts of the Panic Button team, which has already proven itself in porting games to this platform (including DOOM of 2016).

Even more surprising is the fact that literally at the end of September, DOOM Eternal executive producer Marty Stratton assured the public that the Switch version was nearing the premiere.

The official support microblogging Bethesda Softworks has already commented on the situation, but did not clarify it: “We did not make any announcements about the cancellation of DOOM Eternal for Switch .

However, there is a possibility that it was not DOOM Eternal itself for Nintendo Switch that was canceled, but only its retail edition. This would explain the loss of pre-orders for the game from large online stores like Amazon and Best Buy.

This assumption with reference to the PR department of Bethesda Softworks is confirmed by the official microblog of the Source Gaming portal. According to a company representative, the details of the situation will be told before the end of this month.

DOOM Eternal is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia, and will be coming to next-gen consoles in the future. The shooter is nominated for four awards at The Game Awards 2020, including Game of the Year.
