GeForce RTX 3080 is being bought not only by miners and resellers – the video card appeared in Steam statistics
Many players still cannot find NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (especially at the recommended price) – the deficit that began after the start does not stop. Moreover, in addition to speculators, crypto agitators joined the demand. But there are players who have managed to get their hands on new video cards: in the latest statistics on Steam, the card took 35th place in popularity.
As the largest digital video game marketplace on the planet, Steam conducts monthly surveys based on a sample of tens of millions of players. Data from the December Steam survey shows that the GeForce RTX 3080 first appeared in November and was used by 0.23% of users surveyed. In December, this number doubled to 0.47%.
This already makes the GeForce RTX 3080 more common than the GeForce GTX 980 from the same NVIDIA (0.3% of respondents use it). Surprisingly, the GeForce RTX 3080 is also the only latest generation GPU to appear on the list. Three other GeForce RTX 30-series are generally absent there, as are the latest AMD Radeon 6000 cards. This suggests that the number of the latter is below the threshold required to be included in the statistics.
NVIDIA accelerators remain the most popular graphics cards used by Steam players. As expected, mid-level cards perform best.
