Ghost of Tsushima became the fastest selling original PS4 game from internal Sony studios
President of SIE Worldwide Studios Hermen Hulst in his microblog commented on the information released the other day about the sales of Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch Productions.
Recall that the New York Times portal in its recent material on the launch of the PlayStation 5 revealed that since the release, more than 5 million copies of the samurai action have been sold around the world.
Hulst confirmed the figure announced by the New York Times and stated that the achieved result makes Ghost of Tsushima the fastest-selling original PS4 game from internal studios of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Previously, Ghost of Tsushima already set a record for Sony Interactive Entertainment projects for new intellectual property – 2.4 million copies sold in three days.
Sucker Punch Productions commented on the achievement of their project: “We are delighted and crazy about all this support! Thanks to everyone who played Ghost of Tsushima! “
At the end of October, the developers also shared a summary of player statistics for ten days since the launch of the Legends online mode: 11.7 million matches, 1.3 billion ousted opponents, 22.7 million summoned ghost dogs.
Ghost of Tsushima went on sale July 17 this year exclusively on the PlayStation 4. As part of backward compatibility, the game will run on the PlayStation 5 at up to 60 frames per second.
